초록

This study considers the situation where China’s acquisition of technical standards under ‘China Standard 2035’ could challenge US-centered hegemony and infringe on South Korea’s sovereignty and national interests. China’s technical standards policy enables market dominance and technological hegemony, which can lead to enormous economic benefits as well as expanded political and economic influence over neighboring countries. As such, China Standard 2035 is a political tool to implement Xi Jinping’s “China Dream” and can be seen as a strategic offensive by China to threaten the sovereignty of South Korea and the rest of the liberal democratic world through technology. In this article, we examine how China may pursue technological hegemony through the development of the internet in the United States and the development of DJI drones in China.
