초록

This study analyzes the career interruption phenomenon and the re-employment process of Korean women. Through a literature review, the causes of career interruption were examined from cultural, social, and economic aspects. Traditional gender role stereotypes, difficulties in work-family balance, and labor market discrimination were identified as major causes. Although women with interrupted careers face various barriers in the re-employment process, they are overcoming them through individual competency reinforcement and social support. To solve the problem of women’s career interruption, the efforts of the government, companies, and individual women are all necessary. This study provides practical implications for preventing career interruption and improving women’s career continuity.
