The implementation of enhanced safety equipment regulations by the World Karate Federation during the 2023-25 period has established new benchmarks for injury prevention in combat sports, particularly through mandatory helmet and chest protector requirements for youth competitors under 14 years of age. This research examines the potential adaptation of these civilian sporting safety innovations within military training contexts, with specific focus on developing comprehensive Korean Defense Standard (KDS) revision frameworks. Through systematic analysis of WKF regulatory changes and quantitative evaluation of protective equipment effectiveness, this study demonstrates significant injury reduction potential in head and chest trauma categories. The research methodology incorporates biomechanical impact assessment, injury epidemiology analysis, and cost-benefit evaluation to establish evidence-based foundations for military application. Findings indicate that systematic protective equipment implementation generates measurable reductions in both injury frequency and severity while maintaining training authenticity and operational relevance. The proposed military training standardization framework addresses unique operational requirements including equipment durability, tactical compatibility, and logistical sustainability considerations. A comprehensive KDS revision roadmap spanning 72 months encompasses standards development, testing validation, procurement planning, and service-wide implementation phases. The framework establishes protocols for stakeholder engagement, quality assurance, and long-term sustainability planning that ensure effective integration of civilian safety innovations within military training environments. Results demonstrate that strategic adoption of enhanced protective equipment standards can significantly improve force readiness through reduced training-related injuries while establishing sustainable frameworks for continued safety innovation. The research contributes to advancing military training safety protocols and positions Korea as a leader in combat training protection system development and standardization.참고문헌 (0)
