초록
This study analyzes the status of loneliness and social isolation among Koreanyouth and highlights the various social problems arising from this situation. It was found
that economic difficulties, rapid social changes, and cultural factors are interplaying to
exacerbate the loneliness and social isolation experienced by the youth. The COVID-19
pandemic has further aggravated this situation, leading to an increase in mental health
issues among the youth, weakening of social solidarity, among other negative impacts.
This study proposes strategies for mitigating loneliness and social isolation among the
youth, such as strengthening the social support system, activating community-based
programs, and utilizing online social platforms, discussing how these strategies can
facilitate the social reintegration of the youth. Additionally, future research directions
and suggestions are provided, emphasizing the need for more extensive research and
in-depth analysis.
