1세기 전쟁 패러다임의 변화와 함께 드론 기술이 급속도로 발전하면서, 전통적인 군사심리학 이론 만으로는 설명하기 어려운 새로운 형태의 심리적 현상들이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 2010년부터 2024 년까지의 문헌을 체계적으로 검토하고 우크라이나 전쟁 사례를 분석하여 드론 전쟁의 심리적 영향을 종합 적으로 탐구하였다. 연구 결과, 드론 조종사들은 물리적 안전과 심리적 위험의 역설적 공존 속에서 전통 적 전투 조종사보다 높은 수준의 정신건강 장애를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 도덕적 상처와 원격성 의 역설로 인한 독특한 갈등 양상을 보였다. 드론 위협에 노출된 전투원들은 과경계 증상과 예측 불가능 한 위협으로 인한 만성적 불안을 경험하였다. 이러한 발견을 바탕으로 기술매개 전투 스트레스 모델이라 는 새로운 이론적 프레임워크를 제시하고, 드론 전쟁 시대에 적합한 정책적 개입 방안을 제언하였다.

As drone technology rapidly advances alongside paradigmatic shifts in 21st-century warfare, novel psychological phenomena have emerged that cannot be fully explained by traditional military psychology theories. This study conducted a comprehensive exploration of the psychological impact of drone warfare through systematic literature review from 2010 to 2024 and analysis of the Ukrainian war case. The findings reveal that drone operators experience higher levels of mental health disorders than traditional combat pilots, characterized by the paradoxical coexistence of physical safety and psychological risk. They demonstrate unique conflict patterns arising from moral injury and the paradox of remoteness. Combat personnel exposed to drone threats experienced hypervigilance symptoms and chronic anxiety due to unpredictable threats. Based on these findings, we propose a new theoretical framework called the Technology-Mediated Combat Stress Model and suggest policy intervention measures suitable for the drone warfare era. This research contributes to advancing our understanding of military psychological challenges in the new era and provides scientific evidence for developing effective coping strategies for the negative psychological impacts of technological warfare.
