본 연구는 일본 무도의 센 노 센(先の先)과 서양 군사 이론의 OODA Loop라는 두 가지 전술적 의사결정 접근법을 체계적으로 비교 분석하였다. 질적 비교 분석 방법론을 통해 20개의 핵심 문헌을 분석한 결과, 두 접근법은 시간적 특성, 인지적 처리 방식, 철학적 기반에서 근본적인 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 센 노 센은 예측적 타이밍과 직관적 통합을 통한 빠른 반응을 추구하는 반면, OODA Loop는 순환적 적응과 체계적 분석을 통한 포괄적 대응을 지향한다. 연구 결과 두 접근법은 상호 배타적이지 않으며, 상황에 따른 통합 활용이 가능함을 확인하였다. 이는 현대 군사 작전과 비즈 니스 환경에서 문화적 다양성을 바탕으로 한 의사결정 모델 개발에 중요한 시사점을 제공한다.

This study systematically compared two distinct tactical decision-making approaches: Sen no Sen from Japanese martial arts and the OODA Loop from Western military theory. Through qualitative comparative analysis of 20 key literature sources, fundamental differences emerged across temporal characteristics, cognitive processing methods, and philosophical foundations. Sen no Sen pursues rapid response through predictive timing and intuitive integration, while the OODA Loop emphasizes comprehensive response through cyclical adaptation and systematic analysis. The findings reveal that these approaches are not mutually exclusive and can be integrated depending on situational demands. This research provides valuable insights for developing decision-making models based on cultural diversity in contemporary military operations and business environments, suggesting that recognizing and utilizing the strengths of both Eastern and Western wisdom can enhance tactical effectiveness in our globalized world.
