This study analyzes the impact of media coverage on public opinion formation,
focusing on recent major military conflict cases. By applying concepts such as
agenda-setting, framing, and reporting bias, the study qualitatively examines the cases
of the 2014 Gaza War, the 2018 Douma chemical attack in Syria, and the 2020
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The findings reveal that the development of social media
has complicated the process of military conflict coverage and public opinion formation,
and that the issues of objectivity and truthfulness have emerged as critical concerns
amidst intensifying information competition. Furthermore, the study discusses how
military conflict coverage significantly influences international public opinion formation
and serves as a crucial variable in the spread or resolution of conflicts. By shedding light
on the relationship between military conflicts and public opinion in the changing media
environment, this research provides implications for journalism and peace studies.
